about Samantha
I love all things digital and have been in communications for over five years now. When I’m not scrolling through Instagram looking for new trends or planning content then I’m usually with my family and my crazy dog.
My Story
I’m passionate about all things digital and helping to share meaningful content that brings visitors to websites and engagement on social.
My love for social media started way back in the day with MySpace where I loved connecting with people through music and playing about with all the bits of HTML to customise my page. At the time digital communications wasn’t really a thing and I didn’t think a career in this area was possible until I published my first blog post.
Through my beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog I grew a community of followers, shared my advice and thoughts, organised an international make-up swap and worked with numerous brands including: Nivea, QVC, Superdrug, hotels.com and Moonpig.com.

My experience
I currently work for a university as a communications manager where I create content plans that align with the University’s strategy, lead on our social media campaigns, design marketing collateral and produce analytics reports.
Before working at the university, I completed a Master’s degree in Multimedia Journalism which allowed me to gain experience adapting my writing style, working to deadlines and interviewing people.
Over the years I’ve had articles published in a number of publications including, No.1 magazine, Scotcampus, The Sunday Herald, The Shetland Times and the Evening Times.
I’ve also volunteered as a Communications Assistant at The Mental Health Foundation and as a Social Media Volunteer at My Pickle CIC.
